Angels rout the Phillies

Albert Pujols doubled and scored twice and the LA Angels of Anaheim defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 3-0 Wednesday afternoon.

Albert Pujols doubled and scored twice and the LA Angels of Anaheim defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 3-0 Wednesday afternoon.

Pujols finished with two hits while Raul Ibanez, Efren Navarro, and Erick Aybar each drove in a run for the Angels, who have won seven straight against the Phillies.

Garrett Richards (4-0) spun seven scoreless innings, giving up just five hits and no walks with eight strikeouts.

Chase Utley went 2-for-4 with two doubles. Jimmy Rollins, Ryan Howard and Carlos Ruiz supplied the Phillies' other three hits as the offense could not get anything going.

A.J. Burnett (2-3) allowed all three runs on seven hits with five walks across five frames for the Phillies, who dropped their third straight and eighth consecutive interleague game.
