Rockies defeat Texas Rangers 12-1

The Colorado Rockies collected a season-high 21 hits and defeated the Texas Rangers, 12-1, on Tuesday at Coors Field.

Carlos Gonzalez went 5-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored, Troy Tulowitzki went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored and Nolan Arenado extended his hitting streak to 26 games in the win.

Arenado is now one game shy of the club record for consecutive games with a hit which was set by Michael Cuddyer last season.

Arenado had a pair of RBI, Charlie Blackmon homered and knocked in two, and Drew Stubbs recorded three hits with a home run and three runs scored in Colorado's fifth win in its last six.

Juan Nicasio (4-1) earned the win after pitching five innings, allowing one run on two hits and five walks.

Robbie Ross Jr. (1-3) was charged with the loss after surrendering six runs on 12 hits over 5 1/3 innings for Texas, which has lost seven of nine.

Adrian Beltre homered to account for the Rangers' only run.
