NBA: Milwaukee 94, Los Angeles Lakers 79

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Brandon Knight rang out 2013 by scoring 37 points and leading the Milwaukee Bucks to a 94-79 road win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Knight also grabbed eight rebounds and stole the ball four times in the win, which ended a three-game Milwaukee losing streak.

Ersan Ilvasova contributed double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds. Luke Ridnour scored 11.

The Bucks opened the game with a 14-0 run while the Lakers failed to hit their first 11 tries from the field. The Lakers, who lost their sixth consecutive game, scored 12 points in the first quarter and shot 35.8 percent from the field over the entire game to 44.0 percent for Milwaukee.

Pau Gasol and Nick Young both scored 25 points for Los Angeles. Kendall Marshall added 10 points and seven assists. Three Lakers starters -- Jodie Meeks, Shawne Williams, and Jordan Farmar – combined for nine points.
