ARLINGTON, Texas, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Tony Romo drove Dallas to a touchdown in the final seconds of the first half Thursday to ignite a rally that brought the Cowboys a 31-24 victory over Oakland.
Dallas overcame a 14-point deficit with Demarco Murray scoring three times and the Cowboys moved into first place in the NFC East by a half game over the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Cowboys trailed 21-7 when they took over at their own 27-yard line with 1:46 to play in the first half. Romo directed them all the way to a touchdown, needing eight plays and 96 seconds to do so.
Murray finished the march with a 4-yard run and Dallas then drove 87 and 65 yards the first two times they had the ball in the second half. Romo hit Dez Bryant at the end of the first drive and Murray ran seven yards for a score 40 seconds into the third quarter to give Dallas a 28-21 lead.

Yet another long drive of 79 yards in 14 plays led to a Dan Bailey field goal with 1:56 to go in the fourth quarter that put Dallas in front by 10.
Sebastian Janikowski's 45-yard field goal brought the Raiders back within a touchdown with 35 seconds left, but the Cowboys recovered the ensuing onside kick to wrap up their second straight win.
The Cowboys improved to 7-5 and Philadelphia will try to join them at that mark when the Eagles host Arizona on Sunday.
Romo completed 23-of-32 passes for 225 yards and a touchdown without an interception. Oakland's Matt McGloin was 18-of-30 for 255 yards and a second-half interception.
A 23-yard fumble return on the opening kickoff by Greg Jennings and a pair of 1-yard scoring runs from Rashad Jennings staked Oakland (4-8) to its early lead.
