NFL: San Diego 24, Jacksonville 6

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Philip Rivers fired a touchdown pass in an efficient performance Sunday that carried the San Diego Chargers over winless Jacksonville 24-6.

Rivers completed 22-of-26 passes en route to 285 yards for the Chargers (4-3), who dominated the time of possession en route to their third victory in four games.

Ryan Mathews sparked San Diego's ground game, piling up 110 yards with a score on 21 carries, while Eddie Royal paced the receivers with four grabs for 69 yards and a touchdown.

The hapless Jaguars (0-7) couldn't get a touchdown out of backup signal-caller Chad Henne, who made good on 23-of-36 passes for 318 yards and an interception.

Mike Brown made five catches for 120 yards for Jacksonville.
