MLB: Miami 4, Philadelphia 0

MIAMI, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Nelson Eovaldi blanked the Phillies over 7 2/3 innings Monday and the Miami Marlins scored three eighth-inning runs to secure their 4-0 win over Philadelphia.

Eovaldi (4-6) yielded just three hits and two walks in tossing 64-of-109 pitches for strikes. The right-hander struck out five in the gem.

The Marlins were clinging to a 1-0 lead in the eighth when Donovan Solano and Ed Lucas each delivered an RBI single and Christian Yelich capped the scoring with a sacrifice fly.

Two-time Cy Young Award winner Roy Halladay (4-5) started for Philadelphia but was taken out of the game after allowing one run while facing just three batters.

The 36-year-old veteran, who missed 3 1/2 months this season after shoulder surgery, was pulled due to "arm fatigue," the team said.
