SEOUL, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova escaped the string of upsets Wednesday with a second-round victory at the KDB Korea Open tennis tournament in Seoul.
Pavlyuchenkova, seeded third, topped local wild-card entrant Lee Ye-ra 6-4, 6-1 behind five breaks. Pavlyuchenkova had seven break chances and took more than half (32-of-62) of the points off Lee's serve. She won two-thirds of the points off her own serve.
