CHICAGO, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Bronson Arroyo allowed two hits and struck out seven batters over seven innings Wednesday in helping the Cincinnati Reds to a 2-0 win over the Chicago Cubs.
Arroyo (11-9) retired the first nine batters he faced before David DeJesus singled. Darnell McDonald reached on an infield single in the seventh for the other Chicago hit.
Arroyo didn't walk a batter.
Alfredo Simon and Jonathan Broxton each added an inning of no-hit relief for Cincinnati.
The Cubs had one other base runner, when Broxton hit DeJesus with a pitch with two outs in the ninth.
Todd Frazier had two hits, including a first-inning home run, for the Reds. Ryan Hanigan doubled in Zack Cozart in the fifth for the second run.
Both runs came off Chicago starter Chris Rusin (2-2), who only gave up three hits and a walk in six innings.
Cozart doubled in Jay Bruce in the seventh for a 3-0 lead and Frazier and Joey Votto had back-to-back RBI doubles in the eighth.
