MLB: LA Dodgers 2, Atlanta 1 (10 inn.)

LOS ANGELES, June 8 (UPI) -- A wild pitch thrown by Anthony Varvaro in the 10th inning Friday allowed Skip Schumaker to score and gave the Los Angeles Dodgers a 2-1 win over Atlanta.

Varvaro (3-1) came on in the 10th as the fourth Atlanta pitcher and he gave up a one-out single to Ramon Hernandez.

Hernandez made it to third on a single by Luis Cruz, after which Schmaker replaced Hernandez as a pinch runner. Varvaro missed the strike zone twice with Juan Uribe at the plate and then uncorked the wild pitch that brought home the winning run.

Brandon League (2-2) worked the top of the ninth to get the win.

Dan Uggla singled home the only Atlanta run in the fourth and Yasiel Puig homered to tie it in the sixth. Puig hit a grand slam homer on Thursday in the Dodgers' 5-0 decision against Atlanta.
