WASHINGTON, April 25 (UPI) -- Gio Gonzalez allowed one hit over eight innings Thursday, carrying Washington to an 8-1 win over Cincinnati that snapped the Nationals' four-game skid.

Danny Espinosa drove in three runs for Washington, two of them with a third-inning homer, but it was the work of Gonzalez that allowed the Nationals to dominate.
