NBA: Los Angeles Lakers 95, Brooklyn 90

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant scored 25 points Tuesday and the Los Angeles Lakers won in their first game under Coach Mike D'Antoni, 95-90 over Brooklyn.

Bryant scored 10 of his points in the final 5 minutes as the Lakers erased a six-point deficit and went on a 17-6 run to end the game, nosing above .500 (6-5) for the first time this season.

D'Antoni, named the Lakers new coach Nov. 12, had missed the two games since the announcement while recovering from knee replacement surgery but was behind the bench Tuesday as Los Angeles racked up its fifth win in six contests.

Dwight Howard added 23 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and three blocked shots while Pau Gasol contributed 17 points, 11 boards and seven assists in the victory.

Metta World Peace chipped in 17 points and eight boards for the Lakers.

Brook Lopez netted 23 points with seven rebounds and Deron Williams added 22 points and 10 assists for Brooklyn, which fell to 2-2 on the road.
