MIAMI, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Kelly Shoppach's two-run single in the ninth inning, coupled with a fielding error, keyed the New York Mets' 5-3 come-from-behind win over Miami Saturday.
Trailing 3-1 heading into their final at-bat, the Mets struck for four runs to stun the Marlins.
Daniel Murphy and David Wright led off the frame with singles against Steve Cishek (4-2) and after Ike Davis struck out, Lucas Duda delivered a run-scoring single.
One out later Andres Torres drew a walk to load the bases, and Shoppach followed by scalding a grounder up the middle, scoring a pair. Torres also came around to score when the ball rolled past Marlins center fielder Justin Ruggiano for an error.
The rally made a winner of Ramon Ramirez (3-3), even though he had allowed a run in the eighth. Frank Francisco notched his 23rd save as the Mets clinched their three-game series.
Carlos Lee went 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Brayan Peterson and Giancarlo Stanton also knocked in runs for Miami.
