TORONTO, May 28 (UPI) -- Drew Hutchison struck out nine over seven scoreless innings Monday, staking the Toronto Blue Jays to a 6-2 victory over Baltimore.
Hutchison (4-2), a rookie right-hander, stymied the Orioles on three hits while walking three for the Blue Jays, who took the first contest of a three-game series.
Kelly Johnson went 3-for-4 with three RBI, including a two-run homer, and Edwin Encarnacion added his 16th homer of the year -- a solo shot -- as Toronto snapped a five-game losing streak.
Colby Rasmus chipped in with two hits and an RBI for the Blue Jays.
Orioles' starter Tommy Hudson (2-3) was tagged for six runs (five earned) on nine hits in a three-inning effort.
Mark Reynolds went 2-for-3 with a run-scoring double for Baltimore, which dropped a third straight game.
