MLB: LA Angels 3, Oakland 1 (11 innings)

OAKLAND, Calif., May 23 (UPI) -- Alberto Callaspo stroked a two-run double in the 11th inning Wednesday, boosting the Los Angeles Angels to a 3-1 victory over Oakland.

Kendrys Morales drew a one-out walk from Jordan Norberto (0-1) in the 11th and was replaced by pinch-runner Peter Bourjos, who went to third one out later on Howie Kendrick's single. Bourjos and Kendrick scored when Callaspo pulled a high pitch into the left-field corner, putting Angels ahead to stay.

Ernesto Frieri made the lead hold up in the bottom of the 11th, notching his first career save, and Jordan Walden (1-1) earned the win with a scoreless 10th for Los Angeles, which took the rubber match of a three-game road series.

Angels starter Jered Weaver tossed eight innings of one-run ball, yielding three hits in a 112-pitch performance.

Oakland's Jarrod Parker matched him, holding LA to a single run on five hits while fanning eight over seven frames.

Seth Smith socked a solo homer for the A's.
