Luke Gregerson and Andrew Cashner each tossed a scoreless inning of relief and Dale Thayer finished up with his third save for the Padres, who evened their three-game set with the Phillies.

Jesus Guzman's sacrifice fly in the seventh inning broke a 1-1 tie and provided the winning margin.

Halladay (3-3) absorbed the loss despite yielding only two runs on seven hits in a seven-inning effort. The Phillies ace struck out 10 and issued only one walk.

Freddy Galvis got the only RBI for Philadelphia, which dropped its third straight and fifth in six games.
