ARLINGTON, Texas, May 12 (UPI) -- Kendrys Morales drove in the go-ahead run with a pinch-hit sacrifice fly Saturday and the Los Angeles Angels bested Texas 4-2.
With the score tied 2-2 in the seventh inning, Mark Trumbo and Howie Kendrick reached base with none out against Rangers starter Matt Harrison (4-3).
After Alexi Ogando came in to pitch, Peter Bourjos loaded the bases with a bunt single, and Morales, batting for Erick Aybar, lofted a fly to left, scoring Trumbo with the go-ahead tally.
The next batter, Mike Trout, added another sac fly to chase home Kendrick and the Angels held on to even their three-game set with the Rangers.
Dave Carpenter (1-1) earned the victory after working out of a sixth-inning jam in relief of starter C.J. Wilson.
Scott Downs picked up his third save as the Angels improved to 7-4 in May.
Josh Hamilton socked his MLB-best 18th homer, a solo shot, for American League West-leading Texas.
