BALTIMORE, April 11 (UPI) -- Raul Ibanez delivered a go-ahead RBI double in the 12th inning Tuesday and the New York Yankees outlasted Baltimore 5-4.
Robinson Cano led off the 12th with a double off the glove of third baseman Mark Reynolds and went to third on an out.
One out later, Pedro Strop (0-1) intentionally walked Curtis Granderson and Ibanez followed by lining a pitch to right field that hopped over the fence for a ground-rule double that chased home Cano.
Mariano Rivera came on in the bottom of the frame to collect his first save of year as the Yankees improved 2-3 to start the season.
Derek Jeter socked a solo homer and Cano finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored for New York, which clinched its three-game set with Baltimore.
Former Oriole Clay Rapada (1-0) earned the win by retiring two batters in the 11th.
J.J. Hardy went deep for the O's, who scored two runs on New York wild pitches.
