PITTSBURGH, April 8 (UPI) -- Andrew McCutchen drove in the winning run with a hit in the bottom of the ninth, rallying the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 5-4 win over Philadelphia.

The Pirates erased a 4-1 deficit with two runs in the seventh and another in the eighth, when rookie Matt Hague collected his first major league hit -- a pinch-hit, run-scoring single off Antonio Bastardo.

Then in the ninth, Casey McGehee led off with a double against David Herndon (0-1) and pinch-runner Josh Harrison went to third on Alex Presley's sacrifice.

After Jose Tabata struck out, McCutchen belted a pitch off the center field wall, scoring Harrison and handing the Pirates their second walk-off win in three games against the Phillies to open the season.

McCutchen finished 3-for-4 and Joel Hanrahan (1-0) picked up the win with a scoreless top of the ninth.

Hunter Pence went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and RBI double for the Phils.
