COL BKB (W): James Madison 74, Syracuse 71

HARRISONBURG, Va., March 28 (UPI) -- Tarik Hislop's free throw with 15 seconds left gave James Madison a three-point lead Wednesday and the Dukes downed Syracuse 74-71 in the Women's NIT semis.

James Madison survived a 3-point attempt from the left side at the buzzer by Rachel Coffey and advanced to the championship game against Oklahoma State, which eliminated San Diego in the other semifinal.

Kayla Alexander had 29 points and 13 rebounds for Syracuse (22-15) to lead all scorers. Kirby Burkholder paced the Dukes with 18 points.

James Madison hit 23 free throws to nine for the Orange. The Lady Dukes rallied from a six-point deficit early in the second half after Syracuse went on a 12-4 run to begin the period.
