NBA: Portland 111, Denver 102

PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Wesley Matthews keyed a late Portland surge Thursday that pushed the Trail Blazers to a 111-102 victory over Denver.

Denver battled from behind for most of the game and finally took the lead with 7:51 to play on a 3-pointer from Andre Miller.

Portland bounced back, with Matthews hitting a key 3-pointer and layup to highlight a game-closing 20-9 run.

Matthews scored 25 points, Raymond Felton had 23 and Jamal Crawford contributed 22 to keep Portland unbeaten in three games this season.

Portland shot 51 percent from the field and made 21-of-23 foul shots. Marcus Camby had 12 of Portland's 50 rebounds, 20 more than Denver.

Denver, which had won its opening two contests, was led by Ty Lawson with 25.
