MLB: Arizona 5, San Diego 0

PHOENIX, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Josh Collmenter teamed up with four relievers on a nine-hit shutout Friday, bringing the Arizona Diamondbacks a 5-0 victory over San Diego.

Collmenter (8-8) was removed from the game with two on and one out in the sixth, having thrown 99 pitches.

Brad Ziegler escaped the jam in the sixth and three more relievers worked an inning each to complete the blanking.

The NL West-leading Diamondbacks won their fourth in a row.

Arizona took charge with a four-run first, during which Chris Young had an RBI single and later scored on a throwing error by catcher Nick Hundley.

San Diego starter Wade LeBlanc (2-3) gave up four runs on seven hits in four innings to take the loss.
