MLB: St. Louis 5, Pittsburgh 4

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Lance Berkman put St. Louis in front with a two-run home run in the eighth Friday, lifting the Cardinals to a 5-4 victory over Pittsburgh.

St. Louis won its second straight after losing seven out of nine.

Yadier Molina brought the Cardinals back from a 3-0 deficit with a three-run homer in the second.

The Pirates went back in front in the fourth on Jose Tabata's RBI double and Pittsburgh held onto the lead until Berkman hit his 30th home run of the season. Matt Holliday drew a one-out walk in the eighth off reliever Jose Veras (2-4) and Berkman hit the first pitch he saw over the right field wall.

Kyle McClellan (10-6) worked both the eighth and ninth to get the win.
