MLS: Los Angeles 3, FC Dallas 1

CARSON, Calif., Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Juninho scored the go-ahead goal in the 62nd minute Saturday and the Los Angeles Galaxy held on for a 3-1 victory over FC Dallas.

With the score tied 1-1, the Galaxy moved in front when David Beckham drove a free kick in from the right, Gregg Berhalter played the ball back out to the top of the area and Juninho fired a goal into the lower left of the net.

Mike Magee netted an insurance tally in the 80th minute and Omar Gonzalez scored in the first half for the Galaxy (13-3-9), who opened a six-point lead in the Western Conference over Dallas (12-6-6).

Marvin Chavez collected for his fifth goal of the season 10 minutes into the game for Dallas' only score.
