MLB: Cleveland 8, Cincinnati 2

CINCINNATI, July 1 (UPI) -- Asdrubal Cabrera and Carlos Santana hit homers back-to-back Friday, Justin Masterson worked eight innings and the Cleveland Indians rolled over Cincinnati 8-2.

Masterson (6-6) had been a victim of poor run support during a six-game losing streak over his previous 11 starts, but Cleveland produced 12 hits and won for the third time in four outings.

Cleveland added a four-run fifth inning that was finished off by a two-run single from Travis Buck.

Cincinnati's Brandon Phillips hit two homers and reached 1,000 hits for his career. He reached the milestone in the 969th game of his career.

Bronson Arroyo (7-7) allowed eight runs on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings to take the loss.
