Choi takes AT&T lead with course-record 64

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa., July 1 (UPI) -- K.J. Choi fired a course-record 6-under-par 64 Friday and took a 2-shot lead after two rounds of the ATT&T National at Aronimink Golf Club.

Choi, whose round tied the course record set last year by Justin Rose set last year, is at 7-under 133 at 36 holes.

Justin Leonard shot a 67 and shared second-place with Chris Riley, Charlie Wi and Bo Van Pelt at 135. Riley, Wi and Van Pelt each had a 66 Friday.

Adam Scott, a first-round co-leader with Hunter Haas, shot a 1-over 71 Friday and finished the day tied for 10th.

Choi, who won the AT&T National in 2007 at Congressional and captured the Players Championship in May, bogeyed the 11th but then birdied 15 and 16, playing the back nine first. He had birdies on four consecutive holes on the front nine before settling for a par 3 on the eighth and finished with a birdied at No. 9.

Jeff Overton shot a 5-under 65 to take a share of sixth place at 4-under 136 with Bryce Molder (67), Kyle Stanley (69) and Charles Howell III (68).

Ben Curtis, Camilo Villegas and Anthony Kim were among those missing the cut.
