MLB: Boston 14, Toronto 1

TORONTO, June 12 (UPI) -- Jon Lester yielded only two hits over eight innings and the Boston Red Sox blasted four homers Sunday in their 14-1 rout of Toronto.

Lester (9-2) became the American League's first nine-game winner in a dominating performance during which the left-hander allowed only a fourth-inning homer to Jose Bautista and single in the next frame to Edwin Encarnacion.

Lester gave up one walk and fanned eight as the first-place Red Sox racked up their ninth straight win and swept a three-game series against the Blue Jays.

Kevin Youklis and David Ortiz led Boston's 17-hit attack with one homer and four RBI apiece, combining for five hits.

Dustin Pedroia and Adrian Gonzalez each drove in two runs and socked solo homers while Jarrod Saltalamacchia went 3-for-4 with an RBI double in Boston's blow-out win.

Blue Jays starter Kent Drabek (4-5) was pounded for eight runs on seven hits before being chased after four frames.
