MLB: Texas 4, Cleveland 0

CLEVELAND, June 4 (UPI) -- Derek Holland produced his second career shutout Saturday, propelling the Texas Rangers to a 4-0 decision over Cleveland.

Holland (5-1) posted his ninth consecutive start without a loss for Texas, scattering five hits and a walk and striking out five.

The left-hander threw 77 of his 112 pitches for strikes and allowed only one runner to reach as far as third base as the Rangers posted their third consecutive victory over the Indians and seventh in eight games overall.

Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz each cranked two-run homers.

Fausto Carmona (3-7) was tagged for a loss in his fourth straight start, surrendering four runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings for first-place Cleveland.

The Indians suffered their eighth loss in 11 games.
