The world No. 4 carded eight birdies and a double-bogey in seeking to rack up her initial win of 2011 and the 15th of her career. Kerr has been consistent, gaining four Top 10 finishes so far this year, but has yet to take a title.

Matthew, meanwhile, turned in a round of 4-under 67, moving to minus-7. She is looking to claim her first victory since the 2009 Women's British Open and fourth overall.

Mindy Kim (65), Amy Yang (67) and first-round leader Jiyai Shin (71) were tied for fourth place at 5-under 137.
