MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 5, Houston 4

HOUSTON, May 24 (UPI) -- Jerry Sands hit a grand slam homer Tuesday and the Los Angeles Dodgers went on to post a 5-4 decision over Houston.

Jamey Carroll walked, James Loney singled and Matt Kemp reached on an error with one out in the third, filling the bases before Sands blasted a 2-0 pitch from J.A. Happ (3-6) deep over the left-center field wall for a grand slam and a 5-0 Dodgers lead.

Jay Gibbons added a solo shot for Los Angeles, which won for the only the third time in 11 games.

Chad Billingsley (3-4) struck out nine over six innings to earn the victory, surrendering four runs on five hits while walking three.

Happ let in five runs (only one earned) in five frames for the Astros.

Carlos Lee notched a two-run single and Hunter Pence added two hits and an RBI for Houston.
