DOVER, Del., May 14 (UPI) -- Carl Edwards won the 5-Hour Energy 200 Nationwide Series race at Dover International Speedway Saturday despite rain delays and a late crash.
Edwards, the pole-sitter, was battling Joey Logano when Logano made contact with the outside wall along the front stretch.
Logano then ran into third-place runner Clint Bowyer, whose car flipped on its side and came down along pit row's inside retaining wall. The horrifying mishap also involved Brad Keselowski, Steve Wallace and Mike Bliss, though none of the drivers were injured.
Edwards emerged with the lead and claimed his third Nationwide victory of the season and the 32nd of his career.
Rain delayed the start of event by a little more than 1 hour and interrupted it once.
Kyle Busch, who came up a short in his attempt to tie Mark Martin for most all-time Nationwide wins with 49, finished second. Third place went to Reed Sorenson while Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and David Reutimann rounded out the Top 5.
