Nadal, Federer into 4th round at Miami

MIAMI, March 28 (UPI) -- Top-seeded Rafael Nadal and No. 3 Roger Federer cruised into the fourth round of the Sony Ericsson Open with victories Monday.

Nadal, coming off a win over Japan's Kei Nishikori in the second round, had little trouble with fellow Spaniard Feliciano Lopez, dispatching him 6-3, 6-3.

Next up for Nadal will be the winner of the third-round match between Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Alexandr Dolgopolov.

Federer needed a first-set tiebreaker to down Juan Monaco of Argentina in a 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 victory. His next opponent will be Olivier Rochus, who posted a 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 comeback win over 13th-seeded Mikhail Youzhny.

Also winning Monday were seventh-seeded Czech Tomas Berdych, who prevailed over Carlos Berlocq of Argentina 7-6 (10-8), 7-5, and Florian Mayer of Germany, who logged a 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 upset of 11th-seeded Spaniard Nicolas Almagro.
