NBA: Boston 96, New York 86

NEW YORK, March 21 (UPI) -- Boston's Kevin Garnett scored 24 points and the Celtics mounted a fourth-quarter rally Monday to overcome the New York Knicks 96-86.

Garnett also grabbed 11 rebounds.

Paul Pierce added 21 points and Ray Allen contributed 13 for Boston, which outscored the Knicks by 16 points in the final period to stun New York after trailing by double digits for much of the contest.

Rajon Rondo provided 13 points and 12 assists as the Celtics beat the Knicks for the third straight time this season.

Carmelo Anthony scored 22 points and Chauncey Billups 21 for New York, which dropped to .500 with its third straight loss.
