DORAL, Fla., March 11 (UPI) -- Hunter Mahan had a one-shot advantage and the leading 14 players were separated by four shots Friday after two rounds of the WGC-Cadillac Championship.
On a blustery day at the Doral Country Club, Mahan finished his opening round with a 64 and then added a 1-under 71. His 135 total was one shot lower than that posted by Francesco Molinari and world No. 1 Martin Kaymer.
Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson were tied for 34th place at even-par 144.
A destructive storm hit the course Thursday and the delay in play eventually caused the first round to be suspended by darkness with only 11 players having finished. The first round was completed Friday and gusty winds made things more difficult while the second round was contested.

Kaymer shot a 70 and Molinari had a 68 while they were reaching 136 for 36 holes.
Tied for fourth at 137 were Martin Laird, Matt Kuchar, Nick Watney and Rory McIlroy. Aaron Baddeley had the best second round with a 66 and was tied for eighth at 138 with Adam Scott and Dustin Johnson.
Those at 137 included Ernie Els, Luke Donald, Steve Stricker and Padraig Harrington.
Woods, seeking his first victory since 2009, completed a round of 2-under 70 early in the day and then struggled to a 74 in the afternoon. He played the first five holes in 1-over and then ran off 11 straight pars before taking a bogey at the 17th.
Young Japanese star Ryo Ishikawa was one shot out of the lead after 18 holes, but after learning of the enormous natural disaster in his homeland shot a 76 in the afternoon and fell off the pace.
