COL BKB: Cincinnati 58, Georgetown 46

WASHINGTON, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Yancy Gates came off the Cincinnati bench to score 17 points Wednesday and the Bearcats stunned No. 11 Georgetown 58-46.

The Hoyas withered under a physical Cincinnati defensive presence, making just 25 percent from the field. They produced only 12 field goals for the game and during a stretch of 11:30 of the second half scored just four points.

Cincinnati took a big step toward the NCAA Tournament with a huge win. Gates added 12 rebounds and Dion Dixon also scored 17 points for the Bearcats (22-6, 9-6 Big East Conference).

Austin Freeman was Georgetown's only player in double figures with 19 points. The Hoyas (21-7, 10-6) lost for the second time in 11 games.
