COL BKB: Cincinnati 63, Louisville 54

CINCINNATI, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Cashmere Wright keyed a quick Cincinnati start Wednesday and the Bearcats went on to pull off a 63-54 victory over No. 16 Louisville.

Cincinnati held the Cardinals scoreless over a span of 4 minutes in the first half while building a 10-point lead and the Bearcats stayed comfortably in front for the rest of the contest.

The win improved Cincinnati's credentials in its bid to become one of almost a dozen Big East Conference teams that are expected to participate in the NCAA Tournament.

The Bearcats (20-6, 7-6 Big East) had lost three of their previous four. Wright scored 20 points while Sean Kilpatrick added 18 for Cincinnati.

Louisville (19-7, 8-5) was led by Terrence Jennings with 12 points and Preston Knowles with 11.
