COL BKB: Pittsburgh 71, Cincinnati 59

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Ashton Gibbs pumped in 25 points, going 5-for-5 on 3-point tries Saturday and powering fourth-ranked Pittsburgh to a 71-59 decision over Cincinnati.

Gibbs went 7-of-11 overall from the field and 6-of-6 from the free-throw line to supply most of the offense for the Panthers (21-2, 9-1 Big East), who won a second straight conference game after their lone Big East loss to Notre Dame Jan. 24.

Gilbert Brown scored 11 points and Gary McGhee hauled down 13 rebounds as Pitt's defense held the Bearcats to 33.3 percent shooting and never trailed in the game.

Cincinnati (18-5, 5-5) got 13 points from Larry Davis had 13 Anthony McClain added 10 as the Bearcats lost for the 17th straight road game against a ranked conference opponent.
