NHL: New Jersey 4, Carolina 1

RALEIGH, N.C., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Dainius Zubrus notched a pair of goals and Johan Hedberg stopped 24-of-25 shots Saturday, sparking the New Jersey Nets to a 4-1 win over Carolina.

Zubrus gave the Devils a quick 1-0 lead only 1:14 into game and added the game's final tally with less than 12 minutes remaining in the third period, helping New Jersey top Carolina for the third time in less than two weeks.

Patrik Elias chipped in three assists while Henrik Tallinder and Brian Rolston found the net as the Devils stretched their season-best winning streak to seven games.

Hedberg raised his record to 12-10-2 with the victory.

Pat Dwyer scored and Cam Ward stopped 21-of-25 shots for the Hurricanes, who hold the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff spot.
