NBA: Charlotte 94, Boston 89

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Charlotte's Gerald Wallace pumped in 19 points and hauled down 16 rebounds Monday, boosting the Hornets to a 94-89 win over Boston.

Shaun Livingston came off the bench to add 18 points and Gerald Henderson chipped in with 15 for the Bobcats, who salvaged one win during a three-game homestand.

Henderson gave the Bobcats a three-point lead at 86-83 with 2 1/2 minutes to go and, after Ray Allen missed a jumper for Boston, Eduardo Najera canned a 3-pointer to give Charlotte a six-point bulge.

Wallace made three free throws in the final seconds and the Bobcats broke a six-game losing streak against the Celtics.

Allen ended with 25 points, including two 3-pointers, leaving him two short of the all-time career NBA record.

Paul Pierce contributed 22 points and six rebounds for the Celtics.
