NBA: Dallas 113, New York 97

NEW YORK, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki scored 29 points Wednesday and helped the Dallas Mavericks dominate the second half en route to a 113-97 victory over New York.

The Mavericks have won six in a row since the return of Nowitzki from a sprained knee.

Nowitzki made 10-of-16 from the field and was perfect in seven trips to the foul line. He added 11 rebounds.

Dallas turned a four-point halftime lead into a 24-point cushion midway through the third period and easily held on from there.

J.J. Barea added 22 points for Dallas and Tyson Chandler delivered 15 points and 11 rebounds. The Mavericks have won 16 of their last 18 meetings with the Knicks.

New York was led by Danilo Gallinari with 27 points. The Knicks have lost two out of three.

Dallas hit 50 percent of its shots from the field and overwhelmed New York on the boards by 20.
