NBA: Charlotte 100, Philadelphia 97

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 20 (UPI) -- D.J. Augustin wrapped up a career-best effort by making two free throws with 6 seconds left Thursday, clinching a 100-97 win for Charlotte over Philadelphia.

Augustin, playing in the 193rd game of his three-year career, scored 31 points. He made 11-of-17 from the field and all six of his attempts from the foul line to help the Bobcats end a two-game skid.

Gerald Henderson scored nine of his 11 points in the fourth quarter for Carolina while Nazr Mohammed added 15 points and seven rebounds.

Augustin's late free throws gave Charlotte a five-point lead. He hit three 3-pointers in the opening period and scored 25 points in the first half, just one short of his previous career best for an entire game.

Philadelphia was led by 21 points from Thaddeus Young and 19 from Andre Iguodala.

The Bobcats announced during the game that forward Tyrus Thomas would miss as much as eight weeks with a ligament tear in his left knee.
