NHL: Nashville 2, San Jose 1

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Sergei Kostitsyn's third-period goal Saturday sent the Nashville Predators to their fifth straight win, a 2-1 decision over San Jose.

Kostitsyn's tally less than 7 minutes into the final frame broke a 1-1 tie and gave the Predators 19 goals during their winning streak.

David Legwand also scored and goalie Pekka Rinne was busy and effective for Nashville, stopping 42 shots.

Logan Couture scored and Antti Niemi made 24 saves as the Sharks dropped their fourth straight home game.
