NHL: Vancouver 4, San Jose 3

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Alexandre Burrows scored with 11:03 remaining in the third period Monday to help the Vancouver Canucks beat San Jose 4-3 for their sixth straight win.

Burrows also had assist to go with his eighth goal of the season. Daniel Sedin also had a goal and an assist for the Canucks, who got two assists from Christian Ehrhoff.

Sedin's first-period goal, his 21st goal of the season, gave Vancouver a 1-0 lead.

The Sharks tied the score at 1-1 on Ryane Clowe's 11th goal of the season, coming at 5:08 of the second with assists from Jason Demers and Benn Ferriero, but Vancouver went up 2-1 a little more than 3 minutes later when Alexander Edler scored a power-play goal with assists from Ehrhoff and Sedin.

Patrick Marleau made it 2-2 with his 15th goal at 12:18 of the second and San Jose went up 3-2 when Jamal Myers scored at 15:21 of the second.

Jannik Hanson scored with 1:25 left in the second to make it 3-3.

Burrows' third-period goal helped the Canucks improve to 11-0-2 in their last 12 games and 15-1-2 in their last 17.

Cory Schneider made 32 saves for Vancouver.

Antti Niemi went 43-of-47 in goal for San Jose, which had a two-game winning streak snapped.
