NHL: Nashville 5, Los Angeles 2

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Patric Hornqvist scored two of Nashville's five unanswered goals Thursday and the Predators rallied to defeat Los Angeles 5-2.

The Kings suffered their fifth straight loss and fell to the Predators for the first time in four meetings this season. Nashville has won four in a row and captured its 12th road game of the season, tied for the most in the Western Conference.

After a scoreless first period, Kyle Clifford and Jarret Stoll delivered goals in the opening 8 minutes of the second to give the Kings a 2-0 lead.

Colin Wilson then scored a power-play goal to start the Nashville onslaught. Marek Svatos tied the game with his first goal of the season, one that came in his fourth contest as a member of the Predators. He spent the previous six years with Colorado.

Hornqvist added a power-play goal with 5:32 remaining in the middle period to put Nashville in front and he scored along with Sergei Kostitsyn in the third to turn the game into a runaway.

Anders Lindback, making his first start since Dec. 18, settled down after the two early goals to get the win with 24 saves.

All five Nashville goals came off Jonathan Bernier on 28 shots.
