NHL: Nashville 4, Columbus 1

NASHVILLE, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Shea Weber notched a goal and two assists Sunday and the Nashville Predators posted their 15th straight home win over Columbus with a 4-1 victory.

Weber's score evened the game 1-1 early in the second period and Nick Spaling and Patric Hornqvist followed with two more scores in the middle frame to take control of the contest.

Hornqvist added an assist and Sergei Kostitsyn also scored for Nashville, which got 19 saves from Pekka Rinne in their second straight win following a four-game losing streak.

Columbus got its lone goal from R.J. Umberger and Steve Mason gave up all four goals on 26 shots as the Blue Jackets' three-game winning streak was snapped.
