NBA: LA Lakers 102, Philadelphia 98

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant scored 33 points on 13-of-24 shooting Friday to help the Los Angeles Lakers beat Philadelphia 102-98.

Bryant scored 10 in the fourth quarter, including a jumper with 1:15 left that provided the winning margin, and two free throws in the closing seconds to ice the victory -- the second straight for LA following a three-game losing streak.

Pau Gasol scored 20 points and Andrew Bynum finished with eight points and a game-high 15 rebounds. Lamar Odom had 18 points and seven rebounds for the Lakers.

Jrue Holiday led the 76ers with 19 points and 11 assists. Lou Williams scored 18 and Thaddeus Young had 14 for Philadelphia, which has won three and lost four on an eight-game road trip.
