COL BKB: Texas 78, North Carolina 76

GREENSBORO, N.C., Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Cary Joseph's jump shot with 1.4 seconds remaining Saturday boosted No. 25 Texas to a tense 78-76 win over North Carolina.

Joseph's fall-away jumper broke a 76-76 tie forged when UNC's Harrison Barnes connected on a 3-pointer with 12.7 seconds left.

The Tar Heels' Kendall Marshall missed a potential game-winning trey as time expired.

Texas (9-2) also got 24 points and 10 rebounds from Jordan Hamilton and Joseph ended with 21 points in the victory, the Longhorns' third straight.

Dexter Strickland scored 18 points for North Carolina (7-4).

The Tar Heels set up the wild finish when Tyler Zeller gave them a 73-70 advantage with 1:50 to go thanks to consecutive baskets.
