COL BKB: North Carolina 75, Kentucky 73

CHAPEL HILL, N.C., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Tyler Zeller scored 27 points Saturday and hit a pair of clutch free throws that lifted North Carolina to a 75-73 win over 10th-ranked Kentucky.

The Tar Heels (5-3) grabbed a 70-69 lead with 47 seconds to play on Zeller's two free throws and held on for the win when Kentucky's Doron Lamb missed a layup at the other end.

Zeller was 8-of-13 from the field and hit all but one of his 12 free throws. He also grabbed 11 rebounds. John Henson had 13 points and Harrison Barnes scored 12.

Lamb led Kentucky (5-2) with 24 points off the bench. Brandon Knight scored 15 and Darius Miller added 13.

Kentucky led 42-40 at halftime and hit seven of eight free throw tries in the final minute of play.
