NBA: Los Angeles Lakers 103, Washington 89

WASHINGTON, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant scored 24 points and Lamar Odom added 18 Tuesday, powering the Los Angeles Lakers to an 103-89 victory over Washington.

Pau Gasol chipped in with 16 points, nine rebounds and seven assists as Los Angeles won for the fifth time in six games.

The Wizards led 24-22 after a tight first quarter, but the Lakers took control with a 10-0 run to open the second frame. Gasol's jumper just before the halftime buzzer put Los Angeles up 57-46 and the Lakers cruised from there.

The Wizards were led by 21 points from Nick Young and JaVale McGee contributed 12 more, grabbing nine rebounds.
