NBA: Minnesota 109, Detroit 99

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Michael Beasley's dunk touched off a 10-1 run early in the fourth period Friday that boosted the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 109-99 victory over Detroit.

The Timberwolves won for the sixth time this season, having begun the night tied with Sacramento and the Los Angeles Clippers for the fewest victories in the Western Conference.

Detroit has lost three straight and has dropped eight in a row on the road.

Kevin Love led Minnesota with 27 points and 18 rebounds. He has grabbed at least 15 rebounds in nine straight games, the NBA's longest such streak in seven years.

Luke Ridnour added 20 points and 10 assists for the Timberwolves and Beasley had 12.

Richard Hamilton scored 26 points for Detroit and Rodney Stuckey had 19.
