NBA: New Orleans 93, Detroit 74

NEW ORLEANS, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- David West and Marco Belinelli combined for 47 points Wednesday, pushing the New Orleans Hornets to an easy 93-74 victory over Detroit.

West and Belinelli teamed to make 18-of-32 shots from the field and the Hornets hit 50 percent of its field goal attempts.

West scored 25 points and Belinelli had a season-best 22. His previous high scoring effort had been 20 against Cleveland Nov. 17.

Chris Paul had 14 assists and five steals, helping New Orleans ended a two-game skid. The Hornets played their first home game since NBA Commissioner David Stern announced the league would purchase the franchise.

New Orleans had a 10-point lead at halftime and expanded it to 20 midway through the third period.

Detroit was led by Ben Gordon with 19 points. The Pistons have lost six out of seven.
